Kickstart one of the most crucial—and sometimes frustrating—tasks of your senior year! In this focused course, we’ll tackle everything from the Common Application prompts to the sometimes quirky, school-specific questions that can challenge even enthusiastic writers. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with at least two polished essays that offer admissions officers a window into some of your values and unique perspectives.

Upper School Readiness/Reading and Writing (Not For Credit)

This two-week summer bootcamp prepares middle school students for the 2024-25 school year by building foundational academic and organizational skills. Students will improve outlining, identifying main ideas, using quotes with proper citation, and enhancing grammar and sentence structure, ensuring a confident start to the school year.

Visual Art: Kintsugi (Not For Credit)

This week-long course explores the Japanese art form of Kintsugi, through 4 different areas of artistic expression: Photography, Digital Art & Animation, 2D- and 3D- Art. Kintsugi is based on the idea that embracing flaws and imperfections can make an object stronger and more beautiful. The technique encourages people to fix rather than discard objects, and to value them as part of their history. Curriculum will be enhanced with a trip to the Morikami Museum and guest presentations.
